An Art Deco sterling silver St John Ambulance watch chain formed from 15 annual examination award bars dated consecutively from 1925 to 1939. Each linked bar records another successful year of re-examination, giving the chain a clear connection to the history of St John first-aid training.
The chain measures approximately 13 inches and can be kept as a collectible watch chain. A jeweller could also add compatible links and a dog clip to extend it into a wearable necklace. Each bar is individually stamped, with marks across the chain including V&S, WD&S, the Birmingham anchor, lion passant, the dates 1925 to 1939 and the number 262324.
