Victorian drop earrings, an Art Deco diamond pair and a later vintage clip-on can look completely different, which is what makes older earrings such an interesting category. Here you’ll find antique, vintage and preloved pairs in gold, sterling silver and platinum, set with diamonds, pearls and coloured gemstones, alongside simpler metal designs.

The fittings can vary just as much as the fronts. Depending on the age of the pair, you may come across hooks, screw backs, clip-ons, posts and hinged hoops, so I show the fastening and any stamps or hallmarks where they are present.
