An antique 9ct rose gold pentagram pendant dating to 1921. The openwork design features an upright interlaced five-pointed star enclosed within a circular frame, a form also known as a pentacle, surrounded by finely engraved scrolling foliate decoration.
The pentagram is a longstanding symbol associated with protection and esoteric traditions, giving this fully dated antique pendant an interesting symbolic character as well as a decorative one. It measures approximately 32.3mm including the bail x 23.7mm x 1mm, weighs approximately 3.4g and is hallmarked 9, 375, Birmingham anchor and date letter W for 1921.
